Mykonos
Mykonos surprised me with how much I loved it. The town was although busy lovely and big enough to find some quieter spots. The views are also not over crowded and I think this was the main difference between Mykonos and Santorini.
Summary:
Where to stay:
Paraga beach hostel (social if you make it social, if you buy alcohol from their shop you can drink in the restaurant and its kinda like a common area so you can meet people and its not ridiculously expensive but it is also not cheap and don't bother trying to sneak your own in). You also have to pay to use the sun loungers or buy something even if you are staying there which is annoying but hey its Mykonos.
What to do:
1. Little Venice (less busy and near the windmills) really beautiful and has that white and blue with pebbled streets vibe that everyone comes to Mykonos for. Picture to the right of a quieter part that would be nice to come for drinks in the late afternoon.
2. Windmills (busy and underwhelming but if you're there you got to do it!)
3. 180 sunset bar - 1000% go even if you don't think its your thing but GET THERE EARLY (unless you want to pay a shit loads of money you need to get there really early to try get a good seat to watch the sunset (if you are on the side furthest away from the town you might not be able to see the sunset). Some tables they let you sit at for free but you won't get to see the sunset that well but the vibe is lovely anyway. It costs 10 euros to get in but that goes towards a drink as well (think that was literally the price of a glass of wine though aha).
4. Watch the sunset at a non busy spot. If you walk from the main bus stop to 180 sunset bar you will pass a few quiet windmills on the way up. They can be quite windy but you could get some booze and snacks and watch a pretty magical sunset from there. Views in the second picture on the right.
5. Clubbing - night out at paradise beach. We just went to the free club that shuts at 2 which was hilarious but I felt like a 16 year old in Zante. The big names also play at Paradise beach for a hefty ticket price so look into that.
6. Scorpios - something posh bougie and expensive so if you have money sounds cool. I honestly don't get what it is think its some kind of beach club for the elite but also a big party place? Go see and let me know!
Places to eat:
Sakis Gyros (mixed pitta is soo good and very good value for Mykonos). Was trying to save money at this point so literally only went here aha.
