Prague

This post includes my opinions and experiences of: staying, going out, eating, things to do in Prague and a paragraph on my stay. Enjoy 🙂

Price: In Prague we spent 14.67 Pounds (GB) on average a day and ate out every night so pretty good!

Staying in Prague:
DO NOT STAY IN AZ HOSTEL IF YOU WANT A SOCIAL EXPERIENCE. AZ hostel in Prague was around 5 Pounds (GB) a night so was extremely cheap however had zero atmosphere and felt abit like a hospital. Before we left we didn't care what the hostels were like just the price now reflecting i think its better to pay more to go to a social hostel as the people you meet really do make your trip however if you don't care about making friends/going out/knowing where to go out then you will be fine to stay here as the rooms are huge and cool and have good showers (however the room we were in did not have an en suite, not that this was a problem for us). The area we stayed was great (just a 20 minute walk from Charles Bridge) and really near to this square with dozens of restaurants. The hostels address: Jindřišská 5, 110 00 Praha, Czechia

Going out in Prague:
We have no clue, we went out once when we met a group on a stag do which was hilarious but we went to an awful (but fun) club. However there is a 5 story club and apparently the bar crawls can be good fun? So my best advice is stay in a social hostel that can tell you good places to go out.

Lennon wall

What to do in Prague:
1. See Charlesbridge
2. Rent pedlos near charles bridge (on the side of the river furthest from buda castle there are dozens of places to rent pedlos- some are even dove or car shaped!)
3. Go to Lennons wall
4. Go to the Jewish quarter and see the synagog if possible (look up opening hours)
5. 'Hike' to Prague castle (climb about 300m of steps and see amazing views of prague!)
6. Go to see the astronomical clock

Pizza and pasta factory

Where to eat:
1. Velkoprevorsky Mlyn (cutest cafe situated on the water front, just over the river from Lennon wall opposite the John Lennon pub).
2. Palliardi (restaurant near Charles bridge really cheap goulash soup! Shares a toilet with a much more expensive but cool/nice restaurant next door!).
3. Pizza slice stalls (1.70 Pounds (GB) for a huge pizza slice).
4. Piccolo Perla (don't expect the pasta portions to be big, good pizza and food for under 7.34 Pounds (GB)).
5. Pizza and pasta factory (same as above ^^).
6. Random corporate looking hot dog stands (chips are 1.35 Pounds (GB)!!!).
7. Get a Trolo (traditional dessert thing...you will see them EVERYWHERE, if you want a good price make sure you buy them for around 70 CZH).

Trolo's!
My experience:
Prague is adorable! It was so much fun however for us we didn't find the nightlife great...however beer and wine is really cheap here!! There isn't a lot to do so i recommend 2 full packed days with a chilled evening/morning on either side. But the architecture is beautiful and it is defiantly a city worth visiting! It also happened to be gay pride whilst we were there which was really fun and we found somewhere where you pay to paint bricks (the money goes to charity) which was fun. The sunset from the top of the hill near Prague castle is amazing and i would defiantly do that!

Budget Interail trip:

We went interlining for almost 5 weeks (34 days). We visited Amsterdam, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Slovenia, Venice, Rome, Cinque Terre and Interlarken. Over this period of time we spent 19.80 Pounds (GB) on average (excluding accommodation and transport). However on top of this average spending money we did also purchase a ticket to Sziget festival, a canyoning day trip and a white water rafting day trip. Some of these days we spent barely anything as we were on a train the majority of the day and one of these days i got food poisoning so spent 4 euros! Overall we were on a budget so did eat a lot of supermarket food however we could of been a lot stricter and saved a lot more money by eating out less (near the end of our holiday we looked for the cheapest places but still ate out a lot!)
